girl anachronism

An interesting side effect of this project is the ability to recollect how I felt during a specific moment of each day that I likely would have forgotten about otherwise.

It sounds obvious, since the whole concept of photography is to try and capture a moment. Nevertheless, I truly appreciate having a regular visual record of my days. I remember the specific day when I was nine years old and I figured out that most days blend into one another. In the absence of unique or memorable occurrences, most hours and moments tend to pass us by without interrupting our internal dialogues or senses of self.

Writing helps me recall concepts and reason out problems by forcing me to analyze things in a concrete sense. Photography helps me to remember emotional lessons, just the way that sunbeams spilling in the kitchen window at a certain angle can trigger sudden deja vu of the time you had an amazing conversation with a friend you don’t see much of these days.
